Hey there!! I'm Haidar Alkaftani , The Filmmaker, Videographer, Photographer, and Creative behind FilmedByHaidar
My work has taken me from Michigan to Los Angeles and into projects, productions, events, and rooms I never expected to be in when I first picked up a camera.
Over the past few years, I've worked across commercial productions, live events, corporate content, social media, photography, short films, documentaries, and branded content. I've had opportunities to create alongside and around some of the world's most recognizable artists, creators, entrepreneurs, and personalities, while also working directly with businesses, brands, and individuals who trust me to capture moments and tell their stories.
One of the defining moments of my career so far was working as the cinematographer on the short film Ghosted, which earned me Best Cinematography in a competition featuring more than 130 films. The experience brought my work to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood famously known as the "Oscar's Theater" and remains one of those moments that reminded me just how far a camera can take you.
I've also worked on productions ranging from high energy live events and creator content to corporate projects and documentary-style films. In Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to work around and with major names and productions involving people such as Justin Bieber, Amber Rose, John Alex Gatsby, and other creators and public figures, while continuing to develop my own style behind the camera.
But FilmedByHaidar isn't built around who happens to be in front of my lens.
It's built around what happens behind it.
I care about the way something feels when you watch it. The pacing. The details. The moments between the planned moments. Whether it's a proposal, live event, commercial project, portrait session, corporate production, or a documentary-style film, I approach every project with the same goal:
Create something worth coming back to again and again and again.
I don't believe great work has to fit into one category. Some days I'm photographing a live event. Other days I'm operating camera on a production, directing a commercial shoot, filming a brand, creating social content, or spending hours in an edit turning hundreds of clips into one story.
That's what FilmedByHaidar represents.
Not just photography.
Not just videography.
Not just filmmaking.
It's my name, my perspective, and the body of work I'm continuing to build through every project I take on.
When you work with me, you're working directly with the person behind the camera and the creative decisions. I'm involved in the process from capturing the moment to shaping the final product.
I'm still building. Still learning. Still creating.
But one thing has stayed the same.
